GigaBash Review (Dahn)

This is a brawler, a fighting game for a group, from 1-4 players.
The menu gives this away the aim of it being a game aimed at groups though, with Couch play being the first option, then online, then story.
There's an Arcade mode, where you have three lives to battle each of the other main characters one after another, like the towers in Mortal Kombat and similar games.
An onslaught mode where you can play as an individual or team against growing strength of CPU players.
Then there are a fair few mayhem modes to play around with, where you can only hurt other monsters with trees or burgers, or the floor is lava (Literally)
The 4 single player campaigns are short, probably around 20 rounds in total, and it's all story-board.
Each campaign is 5 maps long, and as you go through the campaign, they get a little longer on each map.
Still, an hour or two max.
I liked the first 3 campaigns, but then it took a nose dive in the last one, rolling out all the tired old manga tropes and just giving up, losing all the fun that it had flowing.
All in all it's a fun game, and you can extend that by ranking up your monsters.
Each monster rank only gives news skins, artwork and Background music, there are no actual gameplay improvements from it, so it doesn't become unfair like that.
For what it is, it's good, fun and the game AI is quite good.
Each monsters plays a little differently but they are all decent enough, no outright stinkers that I could see after unlocking them all.
If you intend to play this in a group, then go for it, it's worthwhile and fun to play.
But for single player, it is going to be limited, so I'd suggest to wait for a sale, if that is how you intend to play it.
I've been playing it with my young nephew and he's really having a lot of fun learning the monsters and playing around with them, as am I.
