Hindsight Review (Strange Hero)

This is an interactive poem: a game that speaks to the player's soul by transporting them through the mind of a protagonist exploring their memories. I really enjoy this type of game (narrative-heavy with minimal gameplay) and this is a delightfully unique game amongst all the rest. You're given the ability to see the protagonist's memories in any angle your heart desires, and the game is very clear that we see our memories differently over time. Time, and memory, are the poetic elements in this game.
A lot of the narrative is conveyed visually with audio (words and music) helping make sense of what you're seeing. I found myself quite moved throughout the story as more and more of the protagonists' memories were given context. The subject matter might be partly why I was moved so strongly as it deals with how a person deals with grief, the parts of life that we all face eventually but would love to do without. Because of this, I saw a lot of myself in the protagonist. As the story winded down towards a conclusion I couldn't help but cry, not that this game is necessarily sad, more-so that it's just deeply human. It's a truly beautiful story.
I'd recommend this, especially if you're looking for a 2-ish hour long story that's more intimate than a film. The story's definitely worth your time.
edit: minor grammar fixes.
