I'm somewhat iffy with this expansion pack. I adore the idea of being able to have the animals around, especially the idea of them going with me to work. Any time I can have pets in a game, I'm all about it. It's really cool we can get birds, turtles, rabbits, etc.
However, this one.... is not my favorite?
It's really a shame, because this has a lot of possibilities.
While it is cool you can take animals into work with you, the animals that follow you into work just suck.
If you go into a mission, or your renovating your own house, and you have the animals with you (dog, or cat, or both), they will ALWAYS get in the way!!!!
YOU HAVE to tell them to stay in one place if you don't want them to be in your way.
Example; I will be attempting to place something down, something important like furniture, or often times, surfaces for the outdoors, and they will LITERALLY get right in my way in the spot I'm trying to place the furniture down.
Oh, and did I mention, that as soon as you go into your work / house reno, that they will automatically follow you? This button is ALWAYS locked on, you literally have to click on them, EACH TIME you load the game when you go into a mission / house reno to take the darn thing off.
Even if you take them off of follow, they will still somehow get in the way, you literally have to tell them to stay if you don't want them to move around, or get in your way in general.
Another con is that if you don't have a doggie door, or a litter box in your own home, they will always use the bathroom somewhere on the floor itself, often leaving you a mess to clean up when you first load in.
Despite having the doggie door and litter box, they can still often times leave a mess for you to clean up, no matter what you do.
It really makes the house look unappealing so you have to clean the house straight away when you see it.
I understand, that they're trying to simulate what it's like having a pet and all, but I don't think this is it. It makes the game stressful having to deal with them constantly getting in the way and ruining your placement because of it.
I would think there's a better way to go about this?
I really want to recommend this expac, I really wish I could, because, who doesn't love having animals?! But this is my real issue with the expac itself, and it's very hard to recommend it.
This is just a mere warning to those who want this expac, and those that don't realize this is what you'll be getting into.
I didn't realize it myself when I got the said expac, because I was overly excited at the idea of getting animals!
