House Party Review (predator)
Honestly I love this game. Its downright hilarious, great writing and VA, and overall a lot of fun. I genuinely supported the devs on this project. There are some issues, though, like it really feels like you will have to make use of a walk through a lot of the time as some objectives and how to do them are very vague but that's about it.
On the flip side, some idiot on the team decided it was a good idea to start charging money for the 'Explicit Content Add-On'. This is MIND BOGGILINGLY greedy considering it was not only free, but they already increased the price, and plan to do so again for the 1.0 release, (Eek's response to this is that they do not plan another price increase, I'll have to take their word.) AND have another paid DLC in the works.
The Explicit Content Add-On is not additional content. It is content cut directly from the game and now charged for - for something that is almost fundamental to the game itself. You're paying $5 for a single file to remove 'censor' bars. This was never mentioned, they just did it. My apologies, it was announced in >this< one little announcement a whole 3 months and 21 days before they started charging for it. F*ck why don't you add lootboxes already? Why the hell would I support a product like this? Eek's response to this is that they "added additional content that has been created solely for the Explicit Content patch" that being "14 cutscenes specifically designed solely for the patch". Ok, so why are you not only charging people for the cutscenes? You're not charging people for the new content you've made for the game, you're still charging people for the ability to uncensor the game. Piss poor response/reasoning on this topic.
This is one of the most stupid decisions i've ever seen an indie dev make for one of these games. I'd have more respect if they made it an EPIC exclusive for a year.
