Isekai Rondo Review (Isha)
An unexpected, enjoyable OP MC (sort of) Isekai trope parody: RPG Edition by KEMCO
Isekai Rondo is a quite unique introduction of the Isekai fantasy trope in a pixel RPG manner but with expectation of KEMCO's usual trope you expect from them, and the story has A LOT of isekai anime tropes you can expect!: the protagonist is reincarnated into another world, protagonist is granted OP powers, and using his previous life modern-day experience in the fantasy world and of course, there's the infamous cameo of Truck-kun! Although (spoiler-alert) unfortunately unsuccessful here in getting the protagonist. š
Thereās also a particular passive that fans of Re:Zero, those familiar with the "Return-by-Death" will find amusing, as it works in a similar way (not entirely) in this game.
The characters are funny and likable, with some side characters and world-building developing after certain events with the main cast. While the story is the gameās strongest aspect, some of the gameplay and control mechanics are disappointing and clunky, to the point where I found them frustrating and inconvenient at times.
While I find the dungeons system funny (because it reminds me of how Labyrinths works in fantasy anime and that you had to start from the first area), it gets tiresome overtime considering how unfunny long the dungeons each area and you had to traverse three areas to progress to another.
Overall, I definitely recommend Isekai Rondo for its story. While the game get so easy overtime that āautobattle with 3x battle speedā is the preferred way for most random encounters and even bosses unfortunately, you, as a player can choose to make the game harder by basically not getting those "storage house keys" or magistone related items.
It's all optional!
