Last Days of Lazarus Review (tonylanniri)

Aw man it's killen me to post a negative review because I really Love adventure, point-n-click, mystery etc games. I can't understand why everyone is saying the graphics are so amazing?? Sure they're really cool and nice but the amount of grossness is beyond ridiculous to the point it's comical.
The crazy part is the trailer and screen shots actually make it look kind of cozy. The 1st chapter was pretty cool but it went downhill from there.
The worst sins with this game are:
The amount of locked doors
Just wandering around aimlessly, not knowing what to do or click next
The absence of any map or hint system
And worst of all, NOT being able to click on objects right NOW,
but being able to click on them LATER! This is beyond infuriating!
Plus there are things to click on such as cabinets to open which never yield anything of use!
Once you got out of the claustrophobic house, the field puzzles were kind of just okay, almost MYST like.
I'm glad there were other characters as I don't really like alone games. That said, they behaved very strangely, especially given the insane nature of their surroundings. Then they would just leave an area without warning for no reason and appear randomly somewhere else. You could sometimes hear them but then have to wander around the house again aimlessly to find them.
On the bright side some of the tapes and videos were pretty cozy. And it was great being able to radio other people from time to time. But there's just not enough here to warrant a good, cohesive game. I'm sure the author had a solid story to tell; it's a shame the graphics team couldn't pull it off.
