Limbo Review (Press start to begin)
Limbo does not have an elaborate storyline. The game takes place in a forest that is on the edge of hell, a piece of no man's land. You play a boy who suddenly wakes up, as if he has been unconscious for a while. His last memory is of his sister, who is nowhere to be seen. Despite the grim, gray and dark atmosphere that prevails in the forest, he is determined to find his sister.

Limbo is a two-dimensional platformer with very simple controls. You can walk, jump, push crates and other objects and climb ropes and ladders. So don't try to swim in one of the many lakes you come across.
To progress in the game you have to solve various puzzles. The puzzles vary widely: from defusing bear traps to crossing a river, from reaching higher plateaus to operating machines correctly. Most puzzles in the beginning are a piece of cake. As you progress through the game, the more difficult the puzzles become.
With most puzzles it is a matter of trial and error, or “trial and death” as the game Danish developers call it. You try to solve a puzzle, but find yourself not doing it quite right, so you try again.
Once you have solved a puzzle and hit the next obstacle, your progress will be saved. So you don't have to worry about ending up very far back in the game and having to redo entire parts. If you don't feel like playing any further in the middle of the game, then continue from that point next time.
Crates, tires, bear traps, boats, corpses, machines, magnets: you can think of it so crazy or you can use it to solve puzzles. Some obstacles even require you to use gravity. All in all, Limbo contains many fun, challenging and ingenious puzzles.
The graphics with carefully chosen background music create a dark and ghostly atmosphere, exactly what Limbo wants to achieve.
