Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Review (MasterDarkseid)
They butchered my beloved MSX2 MG games. MG2 being one of my favorite. Here's my issues with the ports at the time of my review (10/27/2023)
---Metal Gear 87'---
- No Borderless Full Screen Windowed
- No forced V-Sync (If you disable V-sync you gonna get tearing)
- No high resolution support (such as 1080p/1440p/4K) There's a mod that allow you to do that for every game in the collection.
- No rebindings for controls both in-game and launcher (We are in 2023 Konami come on)
- No Audio Volume options (Konami this is meme already)
- Audio is very very compressed (This was supposed to be improved)
- Arrows are not supported for Keyboard and Mouse controls (Fix it please)
- Balancing for Metal Gear 87' is meme. RC missiles should have a spawn in building 2 and Metal Gear TX-55 should have at least a spot for a unique Plastic bomb spawn.
- Big Boss Rank is still a meme and RNG based task to do. ( Also still no reasons to do it as it unlock nothing and there's no achievement for it neither)
- Using mine or plastic bomb then going in inventory will despawn those when used (Bug that need a fix)

-Pretty much most of the issues encountered in MG1
- Audio very compressed as well. noticable with the OST in particular.
- Big Boss is the same meme as MG'87 no rewards , no achievements and minor balancing issues.
---CONCLUSION---
MG1 is unforgivable for many things
Gas when trying to open a door with keycard/Big Boss rank being tied to pixel perfect run/RC Missiles spawn being absent in Building 2 (Big Boss and MG areas) Rooftops forced alarm (Damage is RNG based and bullets too)
MG2 is unforgivable too but, nowhere as bad as MG1 but still bad tho. Big Boss Rank is doable and not as pixel perfect as his predecessor.
Fix them Konami.
