Mini Metro Review (M249 | Spectre)

Mini Metro is one of the most easy to pick up management sims I've ever gotten my hands on. Accessibility is one of the core values of Mini Metro, and while many games such as Factorio/RCT3/Satisfactory contain complex mechanics and years worth of content, Mini Metro skips all of that in favor of a more minimalist approach. The gameplay loop is simple but addictive, and shockingly, even with the game's simplicity, it manages to maintain a consistent difficulty spike. I was shocked at how difficult the game's system building could be for such a simple game.
The daily challenges are a nice touch as well. They're fun, but optional, and I can see someone playing them every now and then. Also, the game provides a fast forward button. Use this. The most boring part of the game is the beginning, and fast forward fixes that.
That being said, where Mini Metro suffers is replayability. Due to its lack of complex mechanics, it's playtime is limited compared to other games. That being said, I think it's a fair trade off for the game being so cheap and accessible. If you want a full blown management sim, pick up a different game. If you want a fun 10+ hours of management, along some fun with trains, this is the game for you. Definitely recommend.
