Murderous Muses Review (Dugbo)
tldr; I think this is a great game and you should play it if you like puzzle games and an interesting story that comes together slowly and is rewarding once you have it all pieced together. More time in, More pleasure/understanding out
So to the review. lets talk about the 2 major critiques I see about the game, is basically it's confusing and the controls where not spelled out.
They are not wrong, but in my opinion they didn't give it enough time to explain it all out (which it does). The game is random so sometimes you are hearing people talk about characters for the first time as if you know who they are. You just need to sit back and enjoy the ride through the well acted/voiced gameplay.
There is a backroom area that sets scenes into group for each character to explain more about their motivations and why they might be the killer (all of them could be the murderer but only 1 is per game). So once you have a few videos unlocked (and it tells you which ones to unlock) you can play all of them in order and become less confused.
The only bad thing I can say about the game is the inventory keybind is I and you can't change it, so every time you're in and out of your inventory you need to move your hands off the keys and back again, I have mentioned this and the dev did post a response about looking into it in the future, I assume for future games but hopefully a patch or something would be amazing but really not needed. You can place a painting and scroll wheel to the correct one, but you get points deducted if you put the wrong painting up first in the first half of the night section if you care about that type thing.
