Not For Broadcast: The Timeloop Review (Delo)
This was a very bittersweet experience.
Bitter, because this is the ending of my most favourite gaming experiences I've had to memory.
Sweet, because it was a perfect send off for this game. Now, it isn't an extra ending or anything like that, it takes part about halfway through the main story, so you need to play parts of the story to be able to enjoy this. But within the first hour, I had laughed more than I had in a long time. This is very much a comedy orientated DLC rather than anything massively serious like the main game but it's just brilliant.
I'll try avoid spoiling anything, if I do, I'll mark it as such. The DLC focuses around an experiment some local scientists are conducting, in typical fashion it goes wrong and time repeats itself (Timeloop, trademark pending) which spawns an experience similar to Groundhog Day, with the concept of a multiverse thrown in...
I've reviewed the main game extensively and this will mimic that I feel, but I've got to say, the talent of the people involved to act out so many different variants of the same story albeit with different changes, is brilliant.
If you are in any way a fan of the original game, just, get this DLC. It's hilarious, I came close to crying with tears at certain parts, and I encourage you to play out all of the different multiverses it introduces My particular favourite is the nowverse...and the dominaverse...and how could I forget the musicverse, that was just perfect
For the price of the DLC, you're easily getting around 5-7 hours of extra content and enjoyment out of this amazing game series.
And a message to NotGames, if you're reading this (you won't be, but still) I implore you, make...more...games. Bring back this cast, bring back Paul and Andrea (Jeremy and Megan), hell, I'd play an entire game just revolving around Jordan Rankly and his definitely not copying Gordon Ramsey ways (perfect by the way)
