Poly Bridge Review (Pavouk106)

Do you know what Pontifex 2 is? This is probably the closest you can get to it. I own and played Bridge constructor, it's child's toy compared to Polybridge. This is the game you want to buy if you want to build bridges.
As an old Pontifex 2 player I was looking ofr bridge building game for a long long time. I wanted a game that would be as close as possible in complexity and physics to Pontifex 2. I habve bought and finished Bridge constructor which was kinda ok, but was rather shallow, not having many options and not many challenges. Then I bought Polybridge...
Polybridge is not as good as Pontifex 2 was, as in Pontifex you could have gone into 3D - you could have built in between the front and back plane of the bridge, simply to save more money that could be needed elsewehere. Pontifex 2 was challenging at times and you had to be very creative to overcome some of those levels. And Polybridge is the same. It is HARD! Especially if you want to go under budget and not break the bridge in the process of crossing it (which in itself is a whole new way to play - let all cars cross and only then let the bridge fail).
I totally love this game, it is the successor of the Pontifex 2 for me.
It doesn't have it'đ own share of problems though... I have saved a few bridges that I loaded the day after finishing the level only for them to break before the vehicles got to the other side. Bridge that worked tomorrow doesn't work today? What the hell? I had another where I had to build ramps on both sides to jump two cars from each side to the other. I had right side done, not breaking, vehicle jumped without a single problem. I started to build the left side and tweaking it. After one tweak to the left side, the right one, which was NOT connected to the left, started breaking on me. Started breaking even though I haven't touched it!
This is not acceptable in game that should be based on physics. It could happen in between patches, I can tolerate that. But it shouldn't happen out of nowhere. The bridges MUST be able to be loaded and not break only because different time of day or different weather outside or whatever...
I have Polybridge 2 and it may have already been addressed there, I haven'ŧ played it yet. I will get Polybridge 3 eventually.
Even with said problems, Polybridge is a great game and it looks like developers really put their time into it and cared about how the game is made. As I already said, this is the successor to Pontifex 2 for me.
