Red Dead Redemption 2 Review (mjozerov)
Quite simply Red Dead Redemption 2 is a masterpiece and my favorite game of all time. The open world of RDR2 is still the best open world to this date. Every corner of this huge map feels alive and purposeful, and there are numerous ways to interact and immerse yourself in this beautiful open world. The graphics are stunning and you will often find yourself just gazing at a vista. or going on a screenshot frenzy, I took the most screenshots in this game by far. From Snowy mountains to alligator infested marshes, even a lush tropical island this map has it all. There is also a large diversity of fauna, with many animals and plants to discover which adds even more depth to the game.
The RDR2 story is the best story I have ever played in a video game hands down. I have never felt as moved or touched by a story of a game in my life, I honestly cried at the end it was so good. The setting of the game is an interesting time in US history where outlaws were becoming extinct. The story is very well written and paced, there are tons of awesome missions, side quests, and easter eggs to find. I enjoyed the story so much I spent the majority of my playtime in story mode and tried to do everything I possibly could. The story missions are all unique and have a well crafted story behind them with fantastic dialogue. The voice acting in this game is top notch. Some of the missions are truly memorable and hilarious as you would expect from a Rockstar game. Also the optional random world events that will occur are comical and fun to take part in. The overall game play was spot on. From the movement to the snappy shooting mechanics and horseback riding, everything felt fine tuned. The dead eye shooting mode feels very smooth and satisfying when taking out a large group of enemies in a blink of an eye.
RDR2 online is well done and there is a lot of content and fun to be had. Its a bit slow at first but once you rank up your character a lot more becomes available to you. Playing with friends is even better in online. You can form a possy and complete missions together or just go riding around causing chaos, its always a good time. My one issue with RDR2 online is the hackers. Its not uncommon to come across a hacker but its not common enough to ruin the experience. RDR2 online might not have the depth of content or level of polish GTAV online has but it still does a good job and will keep you coming back for more.
Once you start this game it will be very hard to put back down. Most of my videos on my Youtube channel are of crazy funny moments in this game. I loved all the Red Dead games but this one takes the cake for me. If you haven't played this game yet, do yourself a favor and get going. There are not many better games on the market even now, this is a must play game.
