Red Tether Review (Connorses)
This is my kind of game: They took a simple mechanic and polished it to near perfection.
---Red---Tether--> has plenty of gameplay depth to it and I think I'll be coming back to this game a lot.
Your thrusters aren't very fast, but you can tether yourself to things to pull yourself and move really fast. It's fun as hell. You also use tethers to attack things! By tethering stuff together you can cause damaging impacts. This results in a hectic gameplay loop of using tethers to pull yourself right through the middle of enemy fleets, attaching enemies to one another (or to battlefield debris) before yeeting yourself back out of their weapon's range.
Your movement and attacks are reliant on the placement of literally everything. This means placement of debris from one fight affects the outcome of the next fight.
My only gripes are:
Sometimes it's very hard to see where my tether is. But usually it's because I'm being bombarded by enemy bullets so maybe it's a skill issue... Sometimes it's hard to escape and in the chaos I pull myself the wrong way.
