Rise of the Tomb Raider Review (𝐎𝐌𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐍)
MY RATING:

9 / 10
She is, was and will probably always be a heroine...
Looking for a game that I can play comfortably with the controller in front of the TV, I often stumbled upon Rise the Tomb Raider.
Since I had already played the titles on the console, they were simply forgotten here on Steam.
How good that it is also the 20th Anniversar Edition, which offers a lot of additional fun.
As always, impressively staged.
With no other protagonist is it so much fun to explore the great game worlds known from Tomb Rider with their countless levels.
From snow-covered mountain peaks to valleys rich in vegetation to old Soviet plant and prisons, everything is there again.
There are certainly more beautiful places than prisons and exorcism graves, but every single level and the sections it contains are absolutely impressive and well thought out.
What I always like about Tomb Raider is that everything just seems believable and convincing. The backdrop, weather conditions and lighting effects just look absolutely realistic every time.
At this point I would like to briefly mention that Lara is still thinking out loud about secrets or what has just happened, but fortunately that no longer lasts forever ๐ ( Metro Exodus , where Anna is constantly talking, could have had a look at something here)
As usual, there are often again (partly large) graves in Rise of the Tomb Raider, which, as usual, have to be solved with skill and understanding.
Aside from the main mission, there are a number of secondary tasks that you can do and are rewarded with new weapons and other items, if you want.
As always, the game runs smoothly and stably and, with the numerous setting options for every setup, offers an almost perfect gaming experience, even if you then have to accept a little loss of appearance in terms of performance.
Unfortunately, the controls are still a bit fiddly and Lara still tends to drop into the dead every now and then instead of jumping to the other side that is saving.
Well, that's how it is ... ๐คทโโ๏ธ
The following DLCs are already included in the 20th Anniversar Edition:
Season Pass:
The season pass includes the Baba Yaga "Temple of the Witch" mission which is not really linked to the main game.
For Nadia we should look for her missing grandfather who disappeared in the wicked valley.
As always, it won't be that easy.
Poisonous clouds that put us in a kind of in-between world (reminded me a lot of Resident Evil Biohazard).
Baba Yaga is a somewhat dark mission in which the witch comes up with an army of direwolves.
The focus here is on exploring and solving puzzles and the DLC contains another hidden grave that can be explored.
Compared to the rest of this mission, the final battle was a bit lame and a bit stressful, but it was a good change with plenty of fun.
Furthermore, the season pass contains the endurance mode, Cold Darkness Awakened (see below) as well as some new outfits, weapons and expedition cards.
20 Year Celebration Pack:
The new story mode "Blood Ties" takes place in the Croft mansion, where you can explore the house from your childhood and uncover the family secret.
As a relatively short story, the focus is solely on exploring and solving puzzles, and I found the story to be a successful change from the main game.
And now I know that Lara can't draw tigers ๐คฃ
Personally, I didn't find โLara's nightmareโ quite as, how should I put it, tingling.
Well done, also the idea behind it and it's not really bad either, but I still don't really know.
The classic Lara outfits that you get are funny ๐
Remnant Resistance Pack:
Contains the "Remnant outfit" and the "Moon Shadow" pistol skin.
Cold Darkness Awakened:
Strictly speaking, it is a kind of "zombie mode" in which you have to fight against mutants. A disused weapons research base in Siberia serves as the setting.
However, it is not just about "bare survival" but also about stopping the disease responsible for it or reversing the mutations. On top of that you get the Ushanka outfit, the empty hammer shotgun and a pack of cards.
Wilderness Survivor Pack:
Contains the "nightshade outfit" and two guaranteed rare cards
