Saints Row 2 Review (Wolfgang Versace Mozart)
Disclaimer: The game is great! I really enjoyed playing it!
The story takes place five years after the explosion on the yacht of Richard Hughes. The protagonist suffered serious injuries which lead to a coma in a maximum security prison. In this moment you get the chance to design your character as a Saints Row tradition. After that, the bandages are taken off and your player awakens. Meeting another inmate named "Carlos", you both escape the prison just to realize that the 3rd Saints Street Gang became forgotten and other gangs are running the city of Stillwater. Your task is to bring the gang back together and rise to the top of the city again. The game might remind you of "GTA: San Andreas".
The graphic design has a "comic" touch to it but I liked it. The city is quite big and there are many areas to explore and also fun mini games to play. The balance between story missions and challenges just felt right to me. The music tracks are on point and you have the chance to develop a huge business empire. A huge contrast to the game might be the humor which is a lot darker compared to the other Saints Row games, but overall the game is pretty fun and I really enjoyed playing it!
BUT: From a technical standpoint, this port is disastrous! It crashed so many times that I do not recommend buying it now! As many other reviews have shown, I am not the only one with those problems. The fact that this disastrous port is still available on Steam is a scandal! The developers need to fix this port!
