i hear the story is nice but haven't gotten very far
hits you right in the nostalgia feels if you grew up on chrono trigger, secret of mana, and GB/GBA RPGs
i want to emphasize: this game respects your time. it has all of the nice parts of similar games but without dealing with grinding or endless inventory management or constant backtracking. this is based on having played the demo, now the full game, and also reading other reviews online.
not having to grind means i can enjoy "content" like the man child that i am while still keeping a pretense of being an adult. what i mean is, i can sink an hour or two a day into a game like this and still feel like i am making reasonable progress, which is satisfying, which means i can stop playing and take care of cats and plants. having to grind out levels, backtrack, or otherwise waste time has probably been the biggest factor in not completing a game for me. i can't look forward to grinding, so when i encounter it i usually stop playing.
anyway, looking forward to the end credits and maybe some DLC (lol wut). the engine or w/e is spectacular
