SimCity 4 Review (Yorbihtter)
I definitely recommend this game to every single person reading this. Such eternal classics as this is certainly a must-play for everyone, regardless of experience with PC gaming.
Briefly, SimCity 4 is, in my humble opinion, the best modern city building game even up to now. It can offer a lot both to casual players who want to spend their time on a relaxing city-building tycoon with nice visuals and music, and to hardcore players, that may find tons of deep and well hidden mechanics that - if used properly - can get your town sprawling into a huge metropolis in no time.
And if you still somehow think that this is not enough - there are gazillion mods out there that add anything from new gameplay mechanics to new graphics and sounds. You can alter SimCity however you'd like and that's surely one of the game's major advantages over the majority of other city builders.
Regarding Cities Skylines - of course it's a much newer and visually better game with tons of new simulation capabilities and new gameplay systems. However, SimCity makes up for it with smart and powerful region mechanics and lots of hidden detail that surely makes SC4, at least in my opinion, both more complex and more interesting than CS.
If you're deciding what game is better to buy, I would, no doubt, say SimCity4 - but only because its much cheaper than Cities Skylines with all of it's money-grabbing DLCs. If you don't care about the price - buy both, neither of these two games should be ignored.
