In short, i got the game, played it, roommate just went to work....i played it 8 hours straight....
This game really seems to aim to bring the player in to the world of cultivation.
This is an updated review: First review was about 8 or 9 hours of playing _ above_
update is below:
Combat = Brotato but more user controlled and the effects are quite nice.
Open world = 2d board game style- travel (mostly) freely from square to square, each on may trigger event, or has an event already there such as dungeon, town, mini boss etc.
Cultivation = Feel like the main character in martial peak/ nano machine / TODG ( well if one uses mods). yea i am the person that wants a game i can play as a cultivation isekai, transported to another world with an incredible power. this power is known as the workshop... heheh
Also, manuals, scripts, pills, elixers, chances to fail breakthroughs, levels, sects, relationships, mother father, friend, brothers, elder, disciple, all with responsibility and other effects on the world all the time. Everything effects something as far as i can tell.
Enjoyability:
i have had it less than a week and have played more than 24 hours. havent had this much fun since either Noita or maybe project zomboid.
Mods caution: Get as strong as you want if thats what you like but i recommend not advancing placement too far in the first full playthrough. (example: An elder cannot participate in the sect tournament as a contestant) soooo you may miss out on an awesome chance to show off your new Golden Core IV: Heavenly Flawed Palm of Sorrow, instead you will be watching and chatting with other elders and giving special items to contestants to help them fail...because Yu Nu is freaking useless, why even accept my freakn manual and Legendary Breaker Talisman of protection if youre going to get wiped by a Qi Condensation III? Bro got demoted with the quickness, almost kicked him out of the sect buttttttt it was my first tournament so maybe i should have just given him all three of the damn items. You know, no, he, we placed behind the Perfect myth sect where Lin Shou, ( attacked my master and humiliated them) is but i cant seem to locate his beach arse. but i found his sister at YuYa town and used some Qi to keep an eye on her, so now everymonth, i check her location, then see if they happen to rendezvous? you know Ron Day Vu? haha anyways, they must not like each other because its been 23 months and 13 days and still nothing.
Dont matter, his parents are only Golden Core IV... I can just start there.

so after realizing i "gotta catch 'em all" i figure i should tell you all. Imp catching is so great, you catch em, use em in battles, send them out on adventures to find treasures and help them evolve ( they are spirits so they have cultivation levels as well, you feed them and after you capture them they get all cute, Until they are unleashed and destroy everything around them! I can summon 3 spirits at once ( ultimate skill summons a legendary being, artifact summons a hot, i mean umm spirit, and the imp Guard summons imp.
CONTROLLER SUPPORT IS A LEGENDARY ADDITION!!!!
Works almost flawlessly, has issues with selecting no. ( do you want to culitivate here for training? YES OR NO) selects no and still has to cultivate for 3 months.... now Lin Shou has left Hua City since i was getting stronger by accident... been looking for this guy for 3 years 9 months and six days. I took out his whole family, let his mom and sister live with embarassment so their cultivation is essentially wasted. His dad? gone, i left his corpse in tact, his master? obliterated. most members of his sect are attacked on sight. If only they had the ability to ask why, but they dont, even if they did. I have acquired the title of 'Heavenly Demon', have 11 partners and a Wife whos cultivation is 3 realms above mine..... haha, talk about taming a beast. She never wants to Dual Cultivate though...marriage hahah. Actually i am only Golden Core right now so my accomplishments by comparison are ridiculous.
oh yea, controller support, right. Auto-aim for battles is a neat touch. dpad works great for traveling while joystick for battles, there are just enough buttons to cover all battle actions except? Capturing a beast spirit. it says press "X" on xb controller butt it doesnt work. (tried to capture a Harpy only to summon my Six Tails and have it obliterate it... Proud and sad alll at the same time. Sooo the simple fix is to press E on the keyboard instaed of X on controller and it works fine. maybe with an update or patch it will be addressed buttttttt im not really complaining.
also, the game runs smooth but the first 3-5 minutes there is lag or stutter, but it smooths out after a few minutes (in case others were having this issue) i just assume tis becuase my character is Sofa King Powerful, he needs more RAM!
