Outlast Trials

By far the best horror experience ever, aswell as replayable, Feels kind of fucked up to adore a game such as Outlast Trials since I got PTSD in reality, but i certainly fell inlove with this game as soon as it came out, or was announced in the first place, truly a great horror experience, definetly worth it since it also allows you to replay and have new experiences with each and every trial in different ways even if you replay the same one, i definetly recommend it.
Outlast Trials is amazing specially for players that do not want the games to end. Even though I have PTSD myself, and specifically get flight or fight responses daily when it comes to sexual themes and or trauma related emotional triggers in general, the outlast trials actually has not been PTSD triggering to me in any way whatsoever. Which is really nice, not having to deal with! Outlast Trials does indeed have nudity, gore, horror, and your character does indeed get to endure horrifying trauma, but it is made in a way that you do not actually get affected badly by it in your real day to day life. Now it could be because it always lets you go back to your so called cell, in which you get to decorate and change your own apperance in aswell. But also you get to play minigames with friends aswell as strangers, it is also a great game because it does not require you to have friends in general, so if you are a loner or have social anxiety, you will be able to play solo and still finish all quests and have a great time. It is available to use their Quick Play feature which allows you to play in group with up to 4 players, which i personally think is great, since i do not have many friends in general. However it is a great way to make friends, since you also can play crossplatform if you have it enabled in your settings, but i think it is enabled as default, i think. People with hearingaids will also be able to play with special settings to avoid higher frequency sounds, there is also soo many settings in general, to make your gameplay, suit you specifically! Which feels great. They also have a report system in case of griefing players or other bad behaviour in game in general, there is an option to describe the person/persons in the report aswell, however I have never actually come across an actual hacker, so that is really calming. Since I have played several hours, I would say there is pretty much less than 1% chance that you would ever come across that. Thr game maps also changes every week, and I say maps because there is alot of them since the maps are more like game series, if you can call it that, it is based on different challanges, such as Genesis trials, Toxic shock trials, Project X, Count down, Project Ultra, and many more, which is pretty much a bunch of maps in each one, and or you can choose to play Escalation Trials which escalates after each game, it will let you play through countless maps nonstop until you die and aswell if you cannot revive yourself, on your own or with a team, however if you die but your team survives you will also live to continue in the upcoming game trial, aswell even if you were to finish your trauma treatment in game aka finish the story, you still get to continue to play with a new identity and you get to keep all your stuff aswell as all your progress, since it registers how many reagents you have released, you also get a new experience in each gameplay daily, since the killers looks and listens for you, aswell as the many choices of game modes which allos you to play the maps on different difficulties, which also grants you different type of rewards, so progressing in the neverending game in general is really fun and makes it much less stressful, so it would also be a game of choice for people who work irl daily, since you do not have a specific time limit, yet you have more than enough tasks in game to have a great time specially when you feel like playing, but do not want to be stressed out, you also have the option to exit the game if you are in a hurry, for an example, if you have been playing escalation trials and suddenly have to go in a hurry your progress will have saved so the rewards will still be given to you, this also means that if you were to be kicked or loose internet connection you will still get your rewards! Even though in all hours of gameplay in Outlast Trials I have still not had any issues with that whatsoever so thats a big plus!!! Aswell if you are in need of a critique, based on PTSD, The absolute worst trigger if you can call it that, would in that case possibly be Mother Gooseberrys human sex toy challange, however I personally have not had any straight down bad trigger of that, i can still see how it may cause mild uncomfort in real life by looking at it with an already broken mind, other than that you may feel mildly stressed depending how much you feel connected to your characters trauma and flight or fight response, when you are being chased or hiding, playing on psychosurgery mode specifically, but overall it is a great experience, for everyone including people with PTSD, and Complex PTSD, since that is what I have, you may get a better picture of what my thoughts aswell as my review is based on! Voice Chat is also available in game, but it is optional, you can also mute everyone, since i prefer playing without voicechat i can not comment too much on that, but the time i did have voice chat on, people seemed pretty kind in my opinion, however as said i do not play much on voicechat so do not go specifically based on what i say about that. If it is indeed an important factor for you. I gotta say Outlast Trials is the best horror game experience I have ever had and played through and I have played alot of games on other platforms including the 1st and 2nd Outlast game on xbox since before! I rate Outlast Trials 10 out of 10! By far the best game experience ever! Also feels great to still be able to play it continuesly without getting bored! Red Barrels and their buddies did great working on this game, I remember when it first was announced aswell as when it came out, I still see the game as very exciting aswell as scary and fun to play daily! I would say it is 100% worth it!
