The Spirit and the Mouse Review (rolenthedeep)

There's a squeak button and an achievement for squeaking too much. That alone is worth the price of admission. Squeaking serves absolutely no function in-game.
Overall, this game is extremely chill. It has excellent "small French village" vibes, an exceedingly pleasant soundtrack, pretty visuals and lots of excessively cute mouse animations.
The gameplay loop is simple and a bit repetitive, but not so much as to be boring. The puzzles aren't terribly complicated, and there's enough vases and rakes to zap between tasks to keep you busy.
My only critiques are style choices. I would have liked a slightly better model for the mouse. I know the whole game is going for a lo-fi look, but the mouse is on screen 100% of the time and it doesn't *quite* gel with the rest of the visual style. It's certainly good enough, but it could easily be at least 20% more cute.
This game is an absolute joy to play. I frequently catch myself laughing and smiling at this dumb little mouse. This is a perfect game to relax with after a hard day. It doesn't demand much from you, and offers an easy place to forget all your human worries and simply become mouse.
400/10 perfect game.
