TheHunter: Call of the Wild - Vurhonga Savanna Review (stryker2600)

Having been to Africa, this DLC supposedly covering African hunting is completely underwhelming.
In every region hunted in the Call of the Wild series thus far, the number of animal encounters far exceeds what you would normally experience if you were actually at the location. In this Africa pack, it's the complete opposite.
IRL, when you go to the open spaces of Africa there are animals everywhere. Literally everywhere all along the horizon. Herds numbering in the hundreds to low thousands are not uncommon to see. Conversely in this DLC, for example, driving all around the region nicknamed "Springbok City", there is almost no life at all except for rabbits and ducks.
Another review mentioned the sound.
The Northern Hemisphere forests are full of sound in the game. In reality, there is almost no sound when you hunt in North American forests, it's naturally quiet all the time. All that is heard is the sound of the wind through the trees and if your ears are really good, you can hear the sound of the wind flowing through the feathers of birds flying directly over you. It does make a noise.
In Africa, there is always something going on in the background. The background bird trilling in parts of the Layton map brought me back to Africa, as that's what you hear everywhere. There is almost no background noise in the Africa DLC, the two background soundtracks should be switched. But when combined with the lack of animals to see or hunt, this DLC is the first one I've felt was a disappointment.
Africa is THE place hunters want to visit because it has dangerous game (Big 5 - Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard, and Cape Buffalo) as well as the sable, oryx, kudu, springbok, gnu, eland, klipspringer, and others of that type. That's right, all of these need to be on the table as shootable game. And they're not.
This DLC could be so much more. Correction: It needs to be much more in order to check the boxes as an excellent hunting game.
The other DLC's I've played have been great, Africa is unfortunately the first one that falls well short of what this game should be.
