Vampire Survivors: Legacy of the Moonspell Review (The Royal Tamarin)
(Pre-review TL;DR) This is worth getting if:
- You want to 100% the game
- You have a dollar to spare
- You want more from vampire survivors (characters, items, maps, music, etc.)
- You want to support the developers (W on you)
- You've played several hours of vampire survivors and are hoping to/expecting to play more consistently
- You like the base game
- You like good DLC
- You like good game
- You like things that are worth your money
- You're cool
This DLC is a literal must have for people who like vampire survivors.. the soundtrack is great, the new characters are amazingly fun (some of the most fun yet) and the new weapons are really unique. (My personal favorites being the 108 bocce)
The characters are a step above the ones in the base game, this time they aren't just simple stat buffs and maybe one or two minor gimmicks like boosted amount at the start and being the only character to start with a certain weapon, but this time they have things like the following:
- A character that becomes a supersonic killing machine after killing a certain amount of enemies for a certain amount of time
- (one of my favorites) A character that completely ignores cooldown, and instead fires off a random weapon that you have used, in a consistent cooldown based on movement speed, when you move. (This is especially interesting to build with high cooldown weapons, or things with high duration and high cooldown, or that require movement speed)
- A character that constantly cycles through area, which, sure, isn't the most interesting, but starts with 108 bocce which is one of my favorite items from this DLC, therefore good. The area cycling is also really fun and works super well with centered AoE weapons like garlic, 108 bocce, and so on.
Point is, get it if you can (and own the base game), as it's just more of vampire survivors, and a step up from the base game. The amount of content isn't particularly immense, but it's most definitely worth the money, and more. For 1-2$?? That's a steal. Compared to other DLCs, the average AAA company would probably make this a 20$ DLC, and at 10-15$, I doubt people would complain about the price considering the quality and content.
Highly recommend
