Vertigo 2 Review (Gyarudzilla)

Its not very often that you come across a game that uses every single part of its medium to give you a great experience, especially nowadays. Vertigo 2 is so far above its peers that it actually assimilates them into its design. I counted no less than five games I had played before in VR that Vertigo had simply used as set pieces. Riding boats, shooting aliens and robots, taking a turret to enemy helicopters, what other games call their whole experience, Vertigo 2 calls a twenty minute stretch. And it goes on for over ten hours. The writing is hilarious. Every character is likable and I felt very sad when some of then were gone. The music was also fantastic.
The wow moments keep coming one after the other like a machine gun and I promise it's like nothing you ever experienced in VR before. You'll be eaten by a fish, and then rocketed through its bloodstreams. You'll be hopping over lava waves while plugging a giant worm in the face with your shotgun. I don't want to ruin the best moments, but those were some of my favorites. Every single time I tried to guess what this game would do next, I was proven wrong with the biggest smile on my face. This is an extremely special experience that I am really thankful I was able to have and I can't wait to keep playing it over and over, though nothing will be as magical as the first.
Now for what's not so great: The bosses are extremely tough. This is fun of course but one in particular, the church leader with the turban, is just too stressful for what you've got going on there. Even the brain boss, with a room you could barely stretch your arms in, was more manageable. They just stuffed too many enemies into the room at once, which all disappear when you defeat the boss anyway, so it was pretty unnecessary. Also I will echo other peoples sentiments that the SMG is a waste of a slot. It does hardly any damage and is the biggest and clunkiest gun, the worst part is that the spot to rip out your mag and the spot to lay your hand for stability are right next to each other and I don't need to tell you why that was problematic. I also wish the secret bow and arrow had better tracking with the pulling hand, so I felt better using it in more stressful and up close situations.
