Wavetale Review (Rook)
A great 3D platformer with fluid, momentum-based movement that has you sliding around a fairly large world, fighting inky-black creatures with a rudimentary combat system, climbing on top of giant inky-black creatures, and trying to prevent the apocalypse. No, I'm not talking about Solar Ash. Sufficed to say, if you like Solar Ash then you'll probably like this too and vice versa.
However, this game took half as long for me to beat as Solar Ash (a mere 5 hours vs 10) and is only $10 less. I try not to compare games TOO much, as games often take inspiration from the same sources and genres, but MAN these two games are SO INCREDIBLY SIMILAR (even down to them being released around the same time, AND being initially exclusive to another platform for a year) that it's hard for me to see this game as much more than just an inferior Solar Ash.
It's still a fun game, don't get me wrong. But if you want to play a fun momentum-based 3D platformer with gorgeous visuals, then I'd recommend Solar Ash over this. Consider getting this game when it's on sale, though ($30 is kinda steep for a 5-hour game imo).
