Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - Conqueror of Jiangdong Review (Więcu)
It is definitely better than the previous DLC but still disappoints in some aspects.
Firstly, level design is very good, especially the second main battlefield, placed in the forested mountains with lots of gorges crosseed by wooden bridges looks very nice and stands out comparing to battlefields from the main game. From the gameplay perspective, there is nothing innovative in the level design. Unfortunately, like in the most part of the main game, I have the feeling that the level designers have already run out from ideas. Fighting the same enemies over and over again only intensifies the feeling of repetiveness. The bosses however are great. They are challenging (though fair in my opinion) but enjoyable and also very well designed (attack animations are very detailed and smooth). In my opinion, the bosses are far better than almost every boss in both the main game and the first DLC.
Story is not amazing (and is a bit predictive) but it isn't boring either. At least, it sheds some new light on the story of the main game. New weapon type - greatsword - is also a positive aspect of this expansion. I really enjoyed using it. The other thing is that such a huge weapon is not very suitable for fast and parry-focused style of fighting (though great hammer suits it even less). Especially I liked some martial arts. There is also one new divine spirit (a whale) but we obtain it at the very end of the DLC. There are also some smaller additions to the gameplay, like bigger version of these voracious Pandas which we may find on some battlefields, some new gear and new consumable items (which are actually useful, what cannot be said about most of the usable items in the game).
From techincal point of view, I have to add that the game crashed three times during one specific boss fight - fight with Gan Ning on the sub battlefield (and only during it) which was of course quite annoying. Apart from that, I didn't notice any bugs or glitches.
To sum up, if someone enjoyed the main game and looks for more challenge, then I think Conqueror of Jiangdong is a much better choice than Battle of Zhongyuan. For the boss fights and nice level design, this DLC is worth buying (whether for the full price is more questionable).
