Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection Review (Rikapupp)
First impressions: Don't buy unless you are just a big yugioh fan and money doesn't matter.
Cons:
- All the mistakes of Gameboy yugioh games are still there. You must hover over every card to view details as the pictures are blacked out and deck building is a nightmare of menus that is a pain in the ass to keep track of and edit your deck.
- The achievements are very simple. Most are just completing the original game. Which I get, but like wheres the tryhard achievments of collecting every card without cheats or beating every NPC. Theres a few that want you to summon exodia which I like, more of those in future patches would be great just to give us a reason to replay these.
- No Control mapping + uses generic emulator controls. Arrows keys to move, z on keyboard is A and x on keyboard is B. These are the default controls of most emulators which makes me think they maybe stole an open source emulator for this but whatever. I use a 60% size keyboard though that doesnt have arrow keys so this is extra annoying.
pros: its a yugioh game where you can play against the AI in a time where yugioh was much more fun to play.
Overall: Meh. Id much prefer if they remastered PSP/DS era games. This has very little effort put in but thats already alot more than yugioh players are used to getting so you know what I'll take it.
