Hrot Review (N00B)

This game is indescribable.
When it started, I thought it was just some indie-shooter.
And though I was right, it was so much more than that.
The atmosphere tells the story of sorrow, pestilence, perseverance and humility, a lovingly crafted, if low poly recreation of many Czech landmarks and sights, sprinkled with culture and love.
The combat is exhilerating, as to be expected of a boomer-shooter, but with a level of depth that many modern triple-A titles lack. The feeling of discovering that you can kick the Kejdovec's bombs back at them, both disarming them and setting them on fire for a slow but ammo efficient death is a feeling of discovery and joy I haven't felt since I was a child picking up my first controller.
And the bossfights. Dear God the bossfights are awesome.
There'S at least 1 per level and every single one has a unique design and aesthetic. My only complaint would be that they only have 1 or 2 attacks to their name, which may get tiring over the course of a bossfight, but the spectable these fights present in tandem with their quantity leads to nigh unforgettable experiences in numerous succession each chapter.
I am only 28 hours into the game, having just completed episode 3, but this game has suprised, confused, shocked, and intrigued me to my very core. I will return to it again, searching for achievements and exploring the newly added bits of content, hungry for more.
And I'd like to thank the developers for making this game as much as a particular friend of mine, who blessed me with its presence.
