Scum İnceleme (SLippiN)
Ambitious project from 2017-18 which I was supporting from the beginning.
Sadly it had a horde update which completely change the game for the worst, puppets spawning out of nowhere with a broken spawn rate mechanic that the devs have stated they are not willing to fix nor are willing to bring the old spawn rate back.
Extreme lack of communication with their player base.
Not only I do not recommend this title but also recommend you to stay away from supporting any EA title as they could change their product completely. Stick with the finished games and known companies.
Response to Fratman:
'We don't know where you got the information that we are unwilling to fix it. We've reiterated multiple times that the team is working on a fix for this system and that it is on its way. We'd like to have it now as much as you guys want to, but there are a lot of things and avenues where the attention of our programmers is needed'
- I got the information from you people, not changing that mechanism since release which was months ago, "the things" such as paid dlc not one not 2 not 3,... dude you people are already way over the Horde update by a long period of time which is dumped under for ever, not giving proper response nor willing to set a backup point on Beta for those who find this game unplayable due to the very update.
you literally have closed down the whole game unofficially for your play testers and player base with that update, and no! despite you stating the fact that you(as a dev team/member/community manager) know/acknowledge the issue and you are working on it, it is not apparent and most likely a lie & the fact that you ditched/limited majority of your community with that update knowingly while working on non sense features that we can't even get to experience due to broken horde mechanism shows the very simple fact that you can't care more about your community, I'm not the only one that feels like this in the community.
That update was in 2023! we are half way through 24 and so many patches deep with paid DLCs, that's not how acknowledging and working on a known issue works Fratman, if you acknowledge an issue and communicate with your community and you actually work on it then you don't end up with bunch of other Updates and Dlcs on top of a not fixed issue and an unplayable product for so many months.
'What we want to hammer down is that we want and will indeed fix this system. We will not be removing it entirely, but we'll make it work in a way that makes sense and that will not create additional frustration for our players.'
I'm afraid that's little too late, yea sure you will, probably after 20 other DLCs and 100 more updates and if you actually start to feel the player drop in the community but that's not the reality, reality is your game is falling behind, not only it's in EA for so many years but you decided to ditch your player base to go hammering what you think is good to hammer in the time. now there are many games in released/EA state that feel way better than Scum and their community manager actually connects with people, posting couple of office videos of you ppl working on a feature in a broken mess(which wasn't in this state until you decided it to be ) doesn't mean anything.
There is absolutely nothing interesting left in Scum that would attract me and all the interesting parts have been worthless since it's unplayable and even if you hit 1.0 RIGHT NOW, the bitterness left with all these lack luster communication and handling the community won't really bring me back to this title.
good luck in your journey and with your next product, make sure to release the DLCs before even exhibiting the actual game, i'm sure that will give you a head start in the project.
