Bzzzt Review (ChanseyChan)

Consider me a huge fan of Bzzzt. This game is amazing!
There are 52 levels in the story mode and 24 bonus levels. Each level is fairly 'short' but there are extra challenges. You can choose to get all the collectibles, beat the level within the time limit, or do both together to get a flawless run. That's where you will get the most fun.
The enemies and obstacles in later levels are set in a way that might seem overwhelming at first. But the beauty is when you start mapping out the fastest route, you realise that it's timed perfectly so you won't get hit.
Once you memorise, practice, and work on your reflexes, you'll be zooming through - just trust the movement. It's super satisfying.
There are also hidden collectibles in some of the levels which were fun to find and obtain.
Everything is just top-notch design: the controls are superb; the upgrades are awesome; the level layouts are varied and challenging. The music and visuals are great too.
Playing on normal difficulty means that when you get hit, you die and start the level again. But with the levels being short, it is not frustrating. In most cases you die because you made a silly mistake, had a bad reflex, didn't figure out the level yet, or are practicing how to move quickly in a certain part. It's not because of poor design.
I loved this game so much that I wanted to try it on insane difficulty (where you have a limited number of deaths to complete the story mode). That took me around five hours of practice but I just had a compulsion to finish it - and I'm so happy I did.
It really is just a brilliant and engaging platformer. Highly recommended!
