Dark Souls Review (Vvichie)
This game burrowed itself deep into my brain starting in November of 2011 when I saw my best friend ignoring the insane release hype of Skyrim. Everyone was playing Skyrim! And there he is on Xbox live just going in on some Dark Souls day after day.
Around 2013 I decided to see what the f*** was up with this game for myself. My first go, I spent a month trying to beat the Asylum Demon because I stupidly didn't realize you had to progress through the side path. A whole solid month of trying to beat the first boss with a broken sword. Once I beat him, I said this isn't for me.
About 2 years later I gave it another shot and this time found the better weapon to finally make my way to the Firelink Shrine in considerably less time. However, between the Stone Knights in Darkroot Garden and poison damage in Lower Undead Burg, I once again said f*** this. I thought I would revisit Dark Souls sooner, but I eventually left home and the Xbox behind.
December 1st, 2021, with Elden Ring on the horizon, I needed to make a decision if soulsborne games are for me. 25 days and 47 hours of playtime later, yes, yes they are for me. Praise the sun.
