Invincible Presents: Atom Eve Review (chris.ferrantegerard)
This is Visual Novel set in the Invicible comic universe. The story follows Atom Eve and seems to be a mix of original content and basic retelling of first parts of the comics (goes to about end of first season of the Amazon TV show adapation I think). There's also simple and fairly easy turn based combat mini-games in between the traditional VN gameplay.
First playthrough will take about ~-4-5 hours, not a very long story. The story is split into 10 small chapters. A secondary playthrough or two will be required to get 100% achievements. Dialog and story decent over all, some pretty comic style cutscenes. As you progress, you will gain experience which you can use to unlock upgrades in three trees. The upgrades give buffs to the combat mini-game and unlock additional dialog options. The story follows one overall arc. The different dialog options can change minor elements of the story and do events with different characters but no major story arc changes or different real routes. On subsequent playthroughs you gain bonus exp which lets you level up Eve earlier and progress through the combat faster.
One thing that is lacking is 'Extras'. Unless I missed it there's no Art Gallery or Music Box. Why can't you review CGs you've seen or listen to music? These are pretty standard VN features. There's doesn't seem to be a 'Quick Skip' option to speed through seen dialog and only one save file per playthrough. You can restart a chapter that you're currently playing and I think roll back to a past checkpoint in the chapter but can't keep multiple saves if you want to test out different flows, etc.
