Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Review (golf)
Majima's first solo game and a rare (mostly) disconnected story from the rest of the franchise taking place after Infinite Wealth with a amnesiac Majima, his 10 year old friend Noah, and his pet baby tiger Goro building a pirate crew and hunting a hidden treasure.
The game gets rid of the turned based combat of past games in turn for a more hack and slash type of combat. You are juggling people in the air, stringing combos, etc. It's pretty fun wiping out waves of enemies like it's a Warriors game.
The ship combat leaves more to be desired but does the job for what it needs to do. Aside from basic upgrades you can customize your crew, weapons, and look of the ship. It's no Black Flag or Sea of Thieves but it's okay.
Customizing Majima is pretty fun and some clothing items are locked behind minigames and exploration, incentivising you to explore the game if you the desire said item. You can make him have his long hair from 0 or make him baby faced.
For people who are new to the series or maybe are giving the dubs a try. The English dub isn't bad at all, Matt Mercer as Majima and does a amazing job at nailing the same mannerisms as Hidenari Ugaki. Give it a try and if it ain't your thing you can always switch back.
Overall pretty good Yakuza game, and a must play for fans of Majima. I mean, you can literally play dress up with him.
