Poppy Playtime Review (Basic)

I really love the lore of this game personally, and I think it's better than a certain other mascot horror franchise (coughs) FNAF (coughs).

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 4
Chapter 3 was the 'scariest' I'd say, not chapter 4. Chapter 4 was instead sad (mainly because of Doey if I'm being real, I felt so bad for him) but there's definitely some problems that need to be sorted out.

First of all, after I completed the chase scene with Yarnaby, it was all normal until I died. Then, the game seemed to keep forgetting what point I was at in the game, giving me two objectives at once and constantly playing Yarnaby's chase music. The chase music wouldn't go away even if I opened and closed the game again, so I eventually gave up and muted the music (thankfully, after like, a day, it stopped).

Secondly, with Doey's chase scene, it autosaves in such an inconvenient place that it's frustrating. You get killed by him in the chase? Well, good luck doing the chase at all because when you reload it'll make sure you can't move properly for just enough seconds for Doey to catch up to you and kill you. I had to restart the loading point from before I entered the Safe Haven so many times because of that, so much so the cutscene might as well be tattood into my hippocampus.

Thirdly - The Doctor was so wasted. The man who did all of these horrific experiments, the reason why they're even alive and chasing us, just to die because we... plugged a battery in? The boss fight wasn't exactly scary either, I couldn't figure out how to exactly sneak past them so I just ran around like a headless chicken for ages. I really hope he comes back in chapter 5 with a 'plot twist im not dead!!' thing, or he was just completely wasted. Like, the main villain of the chapter being Doey, and not Harley Sawyer who ripped children from the inside out? Really?

Anyways, apart from the criticisms, I really like Poppy Playtime. It just needs some fixing with all of the weird bugs and glitches, but other than that, I love it. The notes and VHS tapes scattered around the map that you can collect really makes it immersive, and it makes me feel for the characters despite not meeting some of them (as they've died in the HOJ).
