Remnant II: The Dark Horizon Review (Xaelon)
This DLC is about the same as the others: new dungeons, new loot, new weapons, new bosses and a new class. If you liked the base game you'll like this too.
There were also a couple of big free updates that came with this DLC. Boss Rush is neat but the Prism system needs more time to cook, though a patch on 10/3/2024 did address one of the big problems with Prisms. If you want to play Boss Rush just patch your game, you don't need to buy this DLC to play it.
The most interesting part of this DLC for me is the new hub area. Exploring this area is very different from the previous ones as it makes use of a gliding mechanic. This gives the new zone a large amount of verticality. There are a lot of things hidden below cliffs and around corners that look like dead ends. It's a lot of fun if you like exploring.
The equipment this time around is generally focused on shields and explosions. The new class is interesting. Unlike being a damage dealer like Invoker or Ritualist, Warden is more of a support, though the combat drone is powerful. The main thing it does is give very easy access to bulwark and shields, which enables synergy with a lot of things.
Length-wise this DLC is a bit different in that most of the content is optional. No dungeons are required to access the boss this time around so you can go kill it immediately if you really want to. Going in blind it took me about 15 hours to clear all dungeons and find everything in the "Oneshot" map for this DLC.
