Before I get into the review, allow me to say one thing. THIS GAME IS COMPLICATED AND YOU WILL DIE A LOT BEFORE YOU FIGURE IT OUT. As someone with a decent amount of playtime and a grasp of how the playerbase and game works, allow me to give you some tidbits before you download this game. It will help you a LOT.
1- Always have a Last Will written, stating what your role is and what you do every night.
(EXAMPLE BELOW:)

2- Some basic vocab. There are some basic vocab words you should know so you don't get confused.
-inno (means vote innocent in trials)
-vfr (vote for role)
-gf (short for godfather)
-BG (short for bodyguard)
-dusa (short for medusa)
-med (short for medium)
-will (means last will, if they ask you this you post your will to the chat)
-arso (short for arsonist)
-ww (short for werewolf)
-maf (short for mafioso/any mafia role)
-exe (short for executioner)
-vet (short for veteran)
-psy (short for psychic)
-retri (short for retributionist)
-necro (short for necromancer)
-CL (short for coven leader)
-hm (short for hex master)
-Pm/Pmer (short for potion master)
-TK (short for town killing)
-TS (short for town support)
-TP (short for town protect)
-TI (short for town investigative)
-MK (short for mafia killing, which is mafioso/godfather)
-TP chain (where two town protects go on each other to create a nearly invincible combo at night)
3- Do not just claim your role as an evil. If you're evil, lie in your last will and if the town asks for your role, don't say "oh im the mafia," that's a one way ticket to the rope.
4- Any town investigatives except Lookout need to post EVERY DAY (except day 1 because you have nothing to post then). If you're a sheriff and you wait until you find someone suspicious, then people are going to be suspicious of you instead. Finding people innocent or seeing nobody visit someone is still information, and can help to sus out fake visiting claims or some neutral roles!
5- Don't be annoying. For real, I don't know how many people try to be annoying or rude without being a Jester (whos goal is to get lynched), but it's a lot. If you're making the game bad for people without being a jester, then just shut it and let people play. Plus, you'll get reported if you go over the top with things, so i'd advise against that.
6- Survivors, unless confirmed, are always suspicious. Some people on Day 1 will say "Day 1 surv" or "Day 1 survivor claim." Have any investigative of your faction check them IMMEDIATELY. Most of the time they're neutrals/evils trying to fake claim survivor to not get lynched. Some are real, and some are even hidden mayors who are planning to surprise reveal later in the game. 90% of them are fake, but if they are confirmed by your faction's town investigative/s, reach out to them late game and ask for help.
I hope these little bits of info will help you in this game, and ensure that you don't act like me and claim survivor on a list without survivor because I was clueless... oh by the way, if you want to support the game more, buy the coven expansion DLC! It adds a few roles listed in the vocabulary (necromancer, coven leader, medusa, potion master, and the hex master, along with the poisoner whom I haven't mentioned yet) and many more neutrals such as Guardian Angel, Plaguebearer, Pirate, and even some new mafia/town roles. Coven All Any (CAA for short) is one of the most played formats in the game, and it's a whole lot of fun! We all could use some new players there or even in the official formats! I spent 30 minutes writing this review, so I hope it's worth your time reading it! Have fun playing one of the best murder mystery games on Steam to date!
